At Turismochiletours, we strive to offer quality service and transparency in all our operations. Learn about our reservation, cancellation and privacy policies to ensure a safe and satisfactory experience in San Pedro de Atacama.
General Tour Policies
Reservations and Payments:
Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance to ensure tour availability.
For reservations made less than 72 hours in advance, please check directly with the executive to check availability.
Payments must be made at the time of confirming the reservation, either through bank transfer, credit card, debit card or cash payment at the agency.
Modifications and Cancellations:
Changes or cancellations to reservations must be notified at least 48 hours in advance to avoid additional charges.
Outside of this range, there will be no refund of the cost of the tour, unless the passenger presents a medical certificate (please review "Cancellation due to Medical Problems").
Cancellations due to Weather Conditions: In the event that the excursion must be cancelled due to weather conditions before the start of the tour, a 100% refund of the tour value will be made.
If a tour is in transit and must be cancelled due to weather events or any inconvenience that occurs during the excursion, a proportional refund will be given to what has been made up to the time of cancellation. These exceptional cases will be reviewed directly with the executive to ensure fair and adequate compensation.
No Show: For shared tours, the agency assigns a specific time slot for hotel pickup, which is confirmed at the time of booking. Passengers must be present in the hotel lobby during that time slot. For private tours, a single confirmed pickup time slot is assigned at the time of booking. In both cases, if the passenger is not at the indicated location and time, it will be considered a "no show" and there will be no right to any refund.
Cancellation due to Medical Problems:
Within 24 hours or during the tour: If the passenger presents a medical certificate issued by the Cesfam of San Pedro de Atacama or any valid medical center less than 24 hours before the tour or when the tour is already in transit or being carried out, a 30% of the tour value will be refunded.
Between 48 and 24 hours before the tour: If the passenger presents a medical certificate in this period, a 70% of the tour value will be refunded.
Within 24 hours before the tour: If the medical certificate is presented in this period, a 50% of the tour value will be refunded.
Transportation Policies:
Shared Tours: Transportation services are limited to the urban radius of San Pedro de Atacama. Pickups are not made at accommodations outside this radius or at those with difficult access. It is always recommended to check with the executive to confirm if your accommodation is within the coverage area and to verify the availability of pickup and return to your hotel for the realization of the excursions. This guarantees correct planning and avoids inconveniences.
In the case of accommodations located in the historic center of San Pedro de Atacama, it is possible that passengers cannot be dropped off at the door of the hotel, since, by municipal ordinance, several streets in this area are "pedestrian walkways" and do not allow the transit of vehicles. However, the center is small, and every effort will be made to drop you off as close to your accommodation as possible.
Private Tours: The restrictions mentioned above do not apply. In these cases, transportation is provided to any requested location, ensuring a completely personalized experience for passengers.
Tour Conditions:
All tours are conducted by certified guides and expert drivers to ensure safety and quality of service.
Turismochiletours reserves the right to modify or cancel tours for safety reasons, adverse weather conditions, or unforeseen events, without prior notice.
Safety Policies:
Mandatory use of seat belts is required in all transportation vehicles provided by the agency.
Passengers must follow all instructions from guides and drivers during the tour. Turismochiletours is not responsible for accidents caused by failure to comply with safety regulations.
Health Conditions:
Excursions in San Pedro de Atacama involve visiting areas at high altitude. Passengers are advised to arrive acclimatized, stay hydrated, and be in adequate physical condition to participate in the activities.
In case of health emergencies, first aid kits are available in all vehicles. However, oxygen supply is only provided under professional supervision, following Sernatur regulations.
Food Policies:
The tours include catering services with quality products, such as La Franchutería baguette bread. It is the responsibility of passengers to inform in advance about any dietary restrictions or allergies.
The agency is not responsible for allergic reactions or problems arising from food consumption if these restrictions are not previously notified.
Passenger Conduct:
Passengers are expected to respect the instructions of the guides and drivers, as well as the natural and cultural environment of San Pedro de Atacama.
Turismochiletours reserves the right to refuse service or terminate an excursion if a passenger exhibits behavior that puts the safety or enjoyment of other participants at risk.
